What is Better ? Hydroseeding or Terraseeding?

Both Terraseeding and Hydroseeding can have the same desired effects, such as erosion control, aesthetics and overall lawn improvement.  While Hydroseeding is a more well-known process, Terraseeding is proving to be a more effective solution.

Terraseeding™ is a patented process where seed it injected into growing medium as it's installed into place with an Express Blower truck.  The seed is planted rather than topically applied. The seeder on the truck is calibrated and metered to ensure the correct seed rate.  Pros include that the seed is protected from severe weather, soil conditions are improved, there are no gaps in the growing area, it’s very effective on erosion and slope control areas/

Hydroseeding consists of a slurry of seed, fertilizer and water which is placed over an area with a Hydroseeder. The positive of this lawn treatment it that it is a more reduced price point. The downside is that seeds may wash away during heavy rain since they just lay on top of the ground, It takes longer for germination, and does not add structure or nutrition to the soil

The short: it depends on the project site conditions and the long term goals.  Hydroseeding can be the answer, where the site soil is healthy and nutritious - for flat ground or slopes.  If soil or a growing medium needs to be added before seeding, Terraseeding is the answer as a one-step process to blow in soil and inject the seed at the same time.  For slopes, a Terraseeded EcoBlanket is often the best option, which includes tackifier Microblend to immediately stabilize the slope until the seed germination takes over.

Ultimately, It is best to contact us to arrange for a site visit.  A Estimator/Sales Rep will visit the site, asses the site and current soil and make recommendations, provide a quote and ensure the correct application is installed for the best seed germination.
